Is Smiley Man Check-In safe for my child?
Smiley Man Check-In has no ads or analytics, and its parent area is protected by a PIN. It is a parent-guided iOS app, so review its privacy choices and use it with your child in the way that fits your family.
What the app does with information
The app saves check-ins and optional creative content to support the experience. A parent can choose Private iCloud Backup, and Family Device Sync is a separate optional feature. Those choices affect where family information is stored.
Read the full privacy policy for the exact data types, cloud options, retention, export, and deletion controls. We do not ask children to enter an email address for core check-ins.
What parents control
The parent area is PIN-protected. It contains privacy settings, saved-content visibility choices, export and deletion controls, and subscription controls. A PIN is an access gate, not a promise that no information ever leaves a device.
The app is not a diagnosis, treatment, or crisis service. Parent patterns are conversation starters, not clinical conclusions.
Who made Smiley Man Check-In
Daniel Praid built the app with his children Adrien and Scarlet. Smiley Man began with Adrien’s original hand drawing. The artwork on this site comes from the family’s existing app and marketing files.
Free and Smiley Man Plus
The app is free to download with in-app purchases. Free includes core feelings check-ins, the first Smiley Hamster, drawing, eight core feelings in the Feelings Book, and core calming activities. Smiley Man Plus is a separately paid subscription for additional features such as more feelings, more stories, read-aloud, additional pets, and advanced parent features.

Does Smiley Man Check-In work offline?
Core check-ins save on the device, and bundled calming activities do not need a live narration service. Downloading the app, making purchases, and using optional iCloud features need an internet connection.
